🦉  History & History of Religions · Hermetic Traditions

Yunus Angıner

As an author, researcher and academic, I work on history, the history of religions, Hermetic traditions, esotericism and the knowledge systems of ancient civilizations. Bringing together academic research, books and digital content, I reinterpret the past through the lens of the present.

About

At the Intersection of History and Tradition

Born in Manisa, Turkey, in 1981, he completed his academic studies in the United States in political science, international relations and history. Over time his work reached beyond politics and history alone, turning toward the history of religions, Hermetic traditions, esotericism, mythology and the systems of thought of ancient civilizations.

Today he pursues his research at the intersection of two distinct disciplines. On one side, political science, international relations and history; on the other, the history of religions, Hermetic traditions and esoteric teachings… This approach seeks to read the past not only through chronological events but also through ideas, symbols and cultural heritage.

Through his books, academic work and digital content, he aims to examine the knowledge traditions formed over the course of history within the framework of academic discipline and to bring them to a wider audience. For him, the real question is often not "What do we know?" but "Why and how do we know something?"

Saklı Ateş

Hermetic Wisdom and the Inner Architecture of Freemasonry

Some traditions remain hidden not because they are concealed, but because they reveal themselves only to those who are ready. Saklı Ateş explores the historical, symbolic and initiatic continuity between Hermetic thought and Freemasonry, not through doctrines or speculative narratives, but through the question of how consciousness is built. Here Hermeticism is not a belief but a discipline of perception; the temple is not a building but an order of consciousness that one carries within. The book invites the reader not to hurry, to pause at the threshold, and to face the ethical weight of knowledge.

"Here, the symbol is not something explained; it is something encountered."

Tapınak Şövalyeleri

History, Faith, War and Legend

The small community founded by a handful of knights in Jerusalem in 1119 soon became one of the most powerful institutions in Europe. The book examines the order's nearly two-century history not through popular narratives, but in the light of papal documents, royal records, the order's rules, Latin chronicles, Arab historians and modern academic research. Across chapters that range from its founding to its military activity in the Crusades, from its contributions to medieval banking to the arrests of 1307 and the execution of Jacques de Molay, and on to the debates over Rosslyn Chapel, the Holy Grail, Baphomet and Freemasonry, legend and documented history are carefully set apart.

"The aim is not to repeat claims that have been told for centuries, but to reveal what the historical evidence actually says."
